For me, Tajik and Persian identity lives in everyday things: the language we speak with family, the poetry we return to, the stories our elders tell, and the songs we teach our children.

What do we hear when a song speaks to us in the language of our hearts?
Sometimes, we hear home. Sometimes, we remember a loved one’s voice, a familiar expression, or a place we have carried with us across years and borders. Sometimes, we find words for a feeling we have struggled to explain: the desire to belong, to be understood, and to know that where we come from matters.
As a Tajik and Persian songwriter and singer, this is the connection I want to create through my music. I write and sing about unity, pride, and heritage because I want people to hear our songs and feel encouraged to learn about our roots—and confident enough to share them.
My mission is to help us tell our own stories, reclaim our connection to our heritage, and let the world know who we are.
